At Zak’s, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our guests. Established in 1986, Zak’s Market began as a cozy diner with just 26 seats. While the charm of our small space remains, it does present some accessibility limitations that we want to make you aware of. Below, you’ll find detailed information about the accessibility features of Zak’s Market.

Our patio, open from the beginning of April to the end of October, is accessible via a ramp, providing a comfortable outdoor dining option.

The main entrance requires navigating three steps to enter, and there is no automatic door button available.

There are no washrooms on the ground level. The available washrooms require climbing a flight of stairs. However, accessible washrooms are available at our sister restaurant next door, Zak’s Cantina. Additionally, an accessible public washroom is located in the ByWard Market Square building.

Accessible parking spots are available at the parking garage across the street at 34 Clarence Street.
From November to March, street-side parking is also available, which may be occupied by individuals with a valid accessible parking permit. These spots allow for free parking for up to 4 hours. -
We welcome service animals in our dining room, as required by law. While we love pets, we cannot allow animals in the dining room for sanitary reasons. However, we would be happy to host your furry friends on our patio during the patio season.
